One of the oldest sweets in Tamil cuisine, Adhirasam is mentioned in literature dating back 2,000 years. This disc-shaped delicacy is made from aged rice flour and jaggery, carefully fermented to develop its distinct flavor, then shaped and deep-fried to perfection. Traditionally prepared during Diwali and other auspicious occasions, Adhirasam represents the heritage of Tamil sweetmaking.
